Mr.President

I always feel very pissed off when I see the fight between political parties on seat sharing, bribery cases, wasting peoples money, child abuse, rape, malnutrition and the list goes on. At times I dream if I be the President of India and bring in changes which will be free of all this and we all live in a better India.

If I become the President of India, I would bring in the following changes

  • President will have all the powers and not like the rubber stamp as we have now.
  • Abolish all religion and caste. People can follow their religion and culture but no reservations for studies or job.
  • All schools to follow same standard of education.
  • Free education for all students till class XII
  • For people working in India 10% salary and 20% of salary have to be contributed towards education plan.
  • Indian citizens studied under scholarship should work in India for a minimum of 10years.
  • Graduation, Masters and Higher studies on merit basis.
  • Every citizen to serve in police for 2 years, military 2 years and civil services for 1 year.
  • All rivers will be unite. Rivers are national resource and state government will not have any right on it.
  • Ration cards only for family comprising of four people.
  • No subsidies for family having more than two child.
  • Every transaction should be on bill.
  • Companies with annual turnover of 50crores and above should adopt one school.
  • Cut hands of citizens found bribing or receiving bribe in public.
  • Specified number of hoardings and neon lights allowed in a city.
  • Every citizen including politicians retirement age is 55years.
  • No court case should be open more than a year.
  • If same judgment given in the lower and higher court, case cannot be taken at Supreme Court.
  • If Supreme Court verdict is against the higher and lower court, lawyers and judges involved in the case will be put behind bars.
  • Each house cannot own more than two cars and two bikes for personal use.
  • Every citizen to cast his or her vote mandatorily Failing to do so will be fined with cut in subsidies and only 50% of the salary will be paid for next 5 years.

Theres lot more to do to make India a real superpower. Wish our politicians and public wake up soon and start realize the dream of India which is a better place to live.

Five Point Someone

I think by now most of them would have read this wonderful book. I am not that ardent reader who will purchase books every now and then and read it. I hardly buy any books. This jus that I dropped into the cafeteria at shoppers stop after a long but small shopping, I saw this book and immediately thought should buy because of 2 reasons 1.I haven’t been to IIT and 2.I don’t want to read a bloated story of some bookworm. The main thing to strike me was the title itself (what not to do in IIT)

The story revolves around three guys. It covers all aspects of a college and hostel life. It had a resemblance of my own life, where I used to skip classes and go for a drink or movie. Going to the roof to have grass or locking up the room for a private drink party with my roommates to share our feeling on results or the gal with whom we have a crush. The author has really worked on the characters and story to make the book to be an addictive one.

Every individual who writes a blog has a dream of writing a book. This book gives you the confidence to write a book with a simple story of what you have seen in life. Its jus that we should have a message to say. At the end, I though okay why cant, I write one. I know its bit too much from me, but “AN IDEA CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE”
Wish I could score FIVE POINT SOMETHING for my book

The Media Menace

India post 90’s saw more and more private channels coming in. For people like me who grew up waiting for every Wednesday to watch chithrahaar (hindi songs), Sunday noon regional movie and evening Hindi movie it was a welcome break. For the first time we could see regional channels showing movies and songs on a daily basis and news also in our own language. As years passed by channels started mushrooming, catering to different category (news, entertainment, sports, etc) we all were so happy to see new one every month offering new dimension to watching television.

My irritation is not on the number of channels coming up, but on the impact it leaves on people and the way it changes their lifestyle. Days have gone where everyone in the family use to sit together and enjoy watching TV. Now it’s more of a fight of what to watch by whom. Being a male you end up on the loosing side to watch those malicious serials, which doesn’t having any meaning at all. By the time you get the remote in your hand and switch to news channels you hate the decision to do so. With each channel competing with each other on exceeding the advt slots than airing news.

Now the channels have gone one step further in making people to believe what they show is truth through sting operations. Just to increase their TRP’s these news channels create own story and cook up to show that they have saved India from dire straits. Not only that now these channels have become more powerful than government (No wonder each party owns a media house) and judiciary. They pick up one case and showcase to the level that they have bought in justice to people who were involved. The funniest factor is they run a sms campaign to justify it. I’m not saying doing this they are wrong but my argument is whether they are more worried on the verdict or increase their viewership.

Yesterday I happened to see another crap, where they aired Abhishek and Aishwarya going to Taj Mahal. Is this is a news to be put on a national news channel? Doesn’t India have other problems, which people should be aware off? Why cant they think kids watching this will be ignorant of differentiating what’s important and what not???

News channels should have a moral responsibility of showing the facts and relevant to one’s life. They should not be biased and should educate people on civics. Hope a day will come when these channels will show programs or news, which are worth watching. Or else it will be doomsday sooner or later.
