The art of achieving the target

The title would reflect as if I’m a management guru or a top class sales person who have put in decades of service in achieving my target every time. But the fact is about how I manage to meet my target of having my lunch and evening drink through others money.
As a sales guy you always want the support of somebody to deliver your results. Here I’m thankful to God for introducing me to a guy who has similar thoughts and action of doing the things like I do. For both of us its only one aims to have a sumptuous lunch in a good hotel and nice drink in the evening.

The day would start at 9am when I leave for my office and he too with his daily routine. We plan on the lunch aspect first. It’s always easier to finalize on one project and proceed further. First we both try sneak through each other. After a long battle either of us will say ok (once in a month) or we would be ready with tactics to find our prey. We go about in choosing our prey and zero in on couple of them. Then we choose the person each of us will contact. We will go about finding their plan and their preference. If the person is not available for lunch then we will lure him for evening drink. The strategy would be if someone buys us lunch he would be taken along with us for the drink or vice versa.

There is one guy who is an easy pick and we will always keep him as our last option. As in any sales here too we have to bear all the process of humiliation, sarcastic comments, etc. But for us it’s way of life. There is one particular customer who always acts funny in front of us and gives all weird reasons to escape from our clutches but being bit smart than him and knowing his intentions we would convince him on buying a drink for somebody else whom we all know where we also will be part of it. Sometimes we strike jackpot wherein we will be having our friends coming from other locations that would call us up and fix for both lunch and dinner.

End of the day we both appreciate each other on accomplishment of our task and will look out for the next day. And in any point in time it is never say die attitude that makes us to reach our goal consistently. I’m not sure how long this would go but until we meet the target its fine. Like any sales call there would be some commitments which you will never be able to make like we promise our clients on the mega treat that we would give for them. The day when all our clients join an association and fight, that day we will escape!!!

P.S: Writing this blog after a free meal and looking out for a free drink in the evening.
